For our adult group lessons, participants must be 16 years or older. You’re never to old to start surfing 😉
For kids 8 years or younger, you will need to book a private lesson.

We will provide you with a wetsuit and suitable board. We use soft tops for beginners and have a full range of regular hard surfboards you may progress on to during your surfing lessons with us. Please specify if you have prior surfing experience and would like to use a hardboard.

The price remains the same whether you use your own equipment or ours-you’re still taking a slot in the lesson. You’re welcome to bring your own gear to use during the lessons. Often students need to progress onto different boards during their surfing journey with us and therefore we have the option to use our equipment even if you have your own.

We provide good quality 4:3mm wetsuits, which should keep you well insulated from the colder waters in Cape Town. Typically, we find that our students are having so much fun that they forget above the water temperature.

We are based in Camps Bay and go out to the beach with the most suitable conditions on the day of your booking. If you have opted for the transported lesson option, we will pick you up at the arranged time. If you have opted to drive yourself to the beach, we will send meeting point details the day prior.

Less than 24 hours prior to booking date-NO REFUND; 25 hours- 7 days prior to booking date-90% refund. 4-lesson package needs to be used within 6 weeks of first lesson date. Package lessons are not transferable to a third party.

If you consider yourself an intermediate surfer and wish to focus on improving specific skills, our private lesson option would be more suitable for you as we can not guarantee that others in the group lesson will be on the same skill level. Private lesson pricing works well if you have a friend on a similar level that you wish to share the total lesson cost. If the private lesson price is out of your budget, you can still join our group lessons and we can give you additional tips in the water (but we will need you to stay in the lesson zone with the rest of the group).

What is the coach: student ratio?

Depending on skill level, group lessons can range from 1:3 to a maximum of 1:6.

Of course-you’re going to get wet anyway. It’s the most fun you can have in the rain. We check the surf forecast on a daily basis, and will inform you should it be necessary to reschedule. The online forecasts are most reliable within 24 hours of the schedule date.

The gear we sell, is any of the gear we have in our school. So you can try it during your lessons before making the financial investment into your own gear if they want to. Speak to us and we will gladly assist with the process.
